Everybody Fung Wah Tonight

So every year my mom goes on a trip with her sisters and Pom Pom. They always have a great time. Well I think that the granchildren descendants of Pom Pom should do something exciting every year when we our all out of school and settled. I am proposing the first trip. We fly into Boston and visit the city, take the Fung Wah bus in Boston's Chinatown which costs like $8 to New York City's Chinatown and then visit that city. It can be planned for 2020 leaving time for every one to finish school and stuff. No kids, as you can see from the pictures below this trip is not your ordinary bus.
The lines may be long, but the price is right.
I don't know the translation.
I believe this one left a pedestrian dead. But the bus was parked and hit by a dump truck in NYC. So you can't blame Fung Wah.
You can blame Fung Wah.

Any Takers?

Chinatown

We went to Boston's Chinatown yesterday to gather groceries and supplies to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Almost There
We Made It!
Hustle and Bustle of everyone getting ready for the celebration.

Ironic a white man taking photos in Chinatown. I was standing in the long line while everyone went shopping.
We didn't but any live eels. Maybe next time.
We did great some great cheap Chinese food for lunch though.

The Mall of Leominster

In attempts to get out of the house I took the kids to the mall play ground. They actually had a great time.
Believe it or not James is actually posing and this is not an action shot.
I took a zillion photos and Jackson wouldn't smile for any.

More Photos

After some of you like the other photos I thought I would show some more. Maybe I will be discovered by National Geographic.
At Hill Cumorah
At Lake Powell

This one was better B & W.
Here I was just testing out my close ups when a bee flew on the flower. Lucky but I should have been closer. This is also at Hill Cumorah.
Crawfish anyone. They actually are very good.

Okay, I'm not one to follow a fad. But I like the Twilight books, and Jake and I actually liked the movie (since we're not really into special effects!). But, I really LOVE the Twilight soundtrack. We heard a couple of songs from it so we bought it on ITunes and it's fantastic. You can listen to a few of our favorites on our playlist. Look for "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron and Wine, "Eyes on Fire" by Blue Foundation, and "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse.

Some Photos

I have always wanted to take up photography so I got myself a nice camera a while ago and here are some pictures. Not as good as Sami Jo but I try. The icy river is down Wheelerville Road in Mendon, Vermont. The crawfish boil is on the streets of New Orleans. The stone wall is in Sturbridge Mas , and the starry ice is at my friend's cabin near Oakley, UT

Winter Wonderland (in January . . . )

So, those of you in Utah have already seen tons of snow, so this post won't excite you. But it's the first chance we've had to play in the snow--a substantial amount of snow with some decent weather afterwards. This particular storm (in addition to some storms in December) has us scratching our heads as to how affected by the weather people are here! In Utah and in Wisconsin, weather happens and people live their lives. Here, it seems to shut everything down. We got between 4 and 6 inches and our church was cancelled Sunday. This is the 4th time church has been cancelled since December. The schools have already used 6 (only 5 were allotted for the year) snow days. Crazy!
PS--Thanks to Amy for Jack's great snow boots! They are the perfect size.
PSS--We bought a metal garbage can that the squirrels can't chew into. Hopefully. So for now, the squirrels will "die another day . . ."

Kill De Sqwuwwah, Kill De Sqwuwwah, Kill De Sqwuwwah

Let me tell all of you about the curse of the WERE-SQUIRRELS. So either New England squirels are just a different breed of squirrells that I am use to or just the squirels on our property have metamorphasized into demons from the very pits of H---.
There are two squirrels that have terrorized are porch for the last 4 months. The have chewed holes in our garbage can lids and scattered food everywhere. Now one of our lids is missing and Becky thinks it was the wind. I am sure the squirrels have taken it. I can just imagine them hopping through the snow in tandem carrying the lid to use as a shelter. At least the shelter will leak with the holes they have created.
Well the squirrells have bit the hand that feeds them when I saw one chewing the cover on my grill. NO MAN, ANIMAL, OR DEMON INTERFERES WITH MY GRILL. Them's fighting words. They are probably using the material as a nest for their upcoming springtime brood of demon squirrel brats.
The squirrels originally had names given from James, but now they are nameless and soon to be victims of revenge. This post is my mission statement to make the squirrels cease and desist once and for all. Hopefully it doesn't turn out like Elmer Fudd or a bad John Candy movie.

Christmas, Vermont, and New Year's Eve

I am all apologies in that I didn't post these sooner. I have been in Vermont working the Killington Ski Clinic and thus have not posted for the last two weeks. So here are collages of the events.
Christmas was fun and relaxing. I came home for the 24th and 25th and On the 26th, Becky and the kids joined me for five days.
Pictures starting top left: James at the Sugar Bush farms where they tasted cheeses and Vermont Maple syrup, at the King Arthur Flour store, then at the Joseph Smith BirthplaceX2, James skiing, and Jackson in the drawers at the hotel and the small one on the bottom is another Sugar Bush farms.
You may need to click on the picture to expand it.
New Year's Eve Viking style. The picture just go in order. I stayed with some great people after the Becky and the kids left. On New Year's Eve they filled a homeade boat with fireworks, firewood, and newpapers. Also with things symbolic of stuff they would like to forget about 2008. They lit it on fire and sent in careening down a hill to land on old Christmas trees, igniting more fireworks and some black powder.

Happy New Year
